Unpunctuated Challenge 9: Commas in Lists
Take a breath
Hundreds of years ago commas were written with a slash /
Back then commas were used to indicate that a short breath was needed when text was read aloud. Some people still advocate that a comma represents a ‘pause’ today but the main purpose of a modern comma is to separate things. In this case it can be used to separate the items in a list.
