Unpunctuated Challenge 2: Demarcating Sentences

A dotty challenge

Dots or ‘points’ are the most commonly used of all punctuation marks. Up to about the 16th century punctuation was known as ‘pointing’. Dots are used in colons, semicolons, ellipses, question marks and exclamations.

Dots used to be known as periods by both the British and the Americans but the British have used the term ‘full stops’ since the 20th century.
